Professional Trapper Database
What is this Professional Trapper Database all about?
The database is a simple list of FTA members who would like to be included
and have their names provided to requesters interested in connecting with a
trapper to trap their land, usually for predator control purposes. The trapper
should be a seasoned trapper comfortable with long lining and extensive trapping
in new areas.
How do I qualify to be placed on the list?
Fur Takers of America will include all members that complete the application
and provide all information requested. We ask that you provide a $20.00 donation
to the program to cover the administrative cost involved. You must be a member
in good standing of the Fur Takers of America and submit the application. The
application includes a local agency check form to verify that you have not had a
trapping related conviction and that you are eligible to purchase a trapping
license.
What information should I include on the application?
Think of the application as a resume and include as much information as you
would like to let a perspective landowner know as much about you as you can. The
requesters will receive this information and will use it to contact trappers.
The requesters will only receive Part A of the application, which includes
personnel contact information and experience information. If you are only
interested in trapping Beavers or Coyotes than make sure you indicate that on
your application. Let the requesters know how long you are able to trap, two
weeks or the entire season of example.
How will the list be provided to the requesters?
The entire list of names will be provided to all requesters without any
preference to any one on the list.
How do I get an application?
Contact FTA as listed below and you will be mailed or emailed an
application. You may request an application by mail or email only. Telephone
requests will not be accepted.
